Dr. Shelby Yaceczko, DCN, RDN-AP, CNSC, CCTD is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition and an advanced practice registered dietitian nutritionist. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the School of Health Sciences Clinical Nutrition programs at the University of Pacific. She is also a practicing dietitian who specializes in gastrointestinal disorders and complex surgical patients with a focus on nutrition support and cancer care.

Education

Dr. Yaceczko graduated from the California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2014 and a Master of Science degree in 2017. She completed a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition degree from Rutgers State University in 2024. She is actively involved in multiple Academy dietetic practice groups including Dietitians in Nutrition Support and Dietitians in Medical Nutrition Therapy where she holds leadership positions. Dr. Yaceczko is currently on the board for the Commission on Dietetic Registration where she participates in numerous committees and serves as the Chair-Elect/Chair/Past-Chair (2024-2026).

Teaching Interests

Dr. Yaceczko has a variety of teaching interests ranging from leadership and innovation courses to advanced medical nutrition therapy including enteral and parenteral nutrition support. She brings practical application and personal experience to the classroom where she weaves in quality improvement and evidence-based practice in her teaching curriculums. Shelby is an enthusiastic instructor and aims for students to translate what is learned in the classroom back to clinical practice to provide effective patient care.

Research Focus

Dr. Yaceczko’s research interests focus on gastrointestinal disorders, early feeding protocols, perioperative surgical nutrition, micronutrients, oncology care, and provider autonomy in dietetics practice. She has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and speaks locally and nationally on topics related to medical nutrition therapy.
