Just nine years after leaving Pacific as a heralded softball catcher, Amy Moore ’12,’14 was inducted into the British Softball Federation Hall of Fame following an outstanding career for the Great Britain National Team.

Moore played four seasons (2010-2013) at Pacific under Head Coach Brian Kolze, where she excelled as the team’s starting catcher. As a freshman, Moore was one of the top defensive catchers in the Big West Conference and helped guide the Tigers to its first Big West title in 2011.

She received her bachelor’s degree from the Eberhardt School of Business in 2012 and earned her master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2014.

“Pacific was by far the best foundation I could have ever had to pursue my dreams of playing professionally and internationally,” Moore said. “The lessons I learned at Pacific on and off the field prepared me to continue my softball career internationally.”

Kolze said it was “comforting” to have Moore as his starting catcher for four seasons.

“We are very proud of Amy’s accomplishments,” he said. “She was a tremendous Tiger when she played here and continued to pursue her craft, competing at the highest level while representing Great Britain.”

Moore began playing internationally in 2012 during her junior year of college after scouts saw her in the NCAA Softball Tournament. Her father was born in Great Britain, which made her eligible.

She played for the Great Britain Women in four World Championships and four European Championships and hit at an elite level against the world’s best pitchers.

Moore retired in 2019 and currently works in sales. She rejoined Team Great Britain earlier this year with the plan to make the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Softball is expected to be reinstated as an Olympic sport when the games return to the United States.

“I think my softball background has and continues to help my teammates form a common goal: to play together as a team and to win,” Moore said.

“I’ve played at all different levels all over the world and have experienced people from many different backgrounds,” Moore continued. “With those experiences, I have been able to help my team become one and accomplish our goals.”
